How can I get a copy of a Probate Record?
In Pennsylvania, the Register of Wills is responsible for
maintaining probate records. In Philadelphia County, an individual may obtain a
marriage record by appearing in person at the Register of Wills, requesting a
copy via this website, or by mailing a letter of request to the department. All
requests must provide the decedent's complete name at the time of death and the
date of their death, as well as the appropriate fee.
Upon receipt of a request, the Register of Wills will immediately conduct a
search and prepare the probate record requested.
